Angel Reese's entire WNBA salary while her mother responds to her daughter’s latest large purchase

Angel Reese, a forward for the Chicago Sky, has had a fruitful year so far in 2025. She has paid off her mother’s mortgage and purchased her first property during the offseason of the Women’s National Basketball Association.

As a result of her recent announcement that she is now a proud homeowner, WNBA phenom Angel Reese has been keeping herself busy during the offseason.

The Chicago Sky forward, who went on to become a WNBA All-Star, has had an outstanding beginning to her professional career despite the fact that she is only 22 years old. Reese has been subjected to scrutiny for her financial decisions while she is not on the court.

It has been generally stated that Reese made $73,439 in her first year of playing in the WNBA in the year 2024. However, she has proven herself to be financially savvy by clearing her mom’s mortgage and securing her own property since the year began.

Reese, who was also featured on the cover of Vogue in January, took to social media on Tuesday to celebrate her achievements by posting a sequence of green check emojis with the following caption: “I retired my mommy. I decided to purchase a home. All of them at 22. Wow, I am very fortunate.

Along with this, she responded to her detractors by writing the following: “They said’she need to cover up,’ so I went cover on Vogue.” They informed me that she was unable to pay her rent, so I went ahead and purchased a home. Thank you very much.

To add her voice to the chorus of congrats, her mother Angel Webb Reese posted a comment on a photo of her daughter holding a huge celebratory key, stating, “Congratulations Baby Girl!!!”

In the snapshot posted by her mom, Reese included a note that read: “Knocked off 2 BIG things off my vision board in the first 4 months of the new year!”. Reese disclosed that she had successfully completed her objective of paying off her mother’s mortgage in January during an episode of her podcast titled “Unapologetically Angel.”

The announcement was made by Reese as she handed her mother a birthday cake. “Well, it’s your birthday today,” she said on the occasion. “Before we sing you a happy birthday, you indicated that if you were to pay off your mortgage, you would either retire or cease working.

Despite the fact that your mortgage was paid off today, you have the option of continuing to work if you so want. You are no longer required to be concerned about your mortgage, and you are free to engage in activities of your choosing if you so desire. My greatest aspiration in life was to be able to retire you and pay your mortgage or whatever it was that you desired to do without having to work.

She recently received a bonus of $50,000 for winning the first-ever Unrivaled title at Rose BC, which is more than half of her usual WNBA salary. The player, who is 22 years old, was awarded the bonus. Although she has joked in the past about living beyond her means, Reese also has brand ties with companies such as Reebok, Beats by Dre, and Reese’s Pieces, amongst others.

During a live stream that took place the previous year, Reese admitted, “I just hope you know that the WNBA does not pay my bills at all.” I seriously doubt that even one of my bills will be paid by that. Literally, I’m trying to think of my rent for where I stay at (in Chicago). “I’m going to figure out the math in a hurry.”

The moment she saw that her monthly rent was eight thousand dollars, she cried, “I’m living beyond my means!” In the event that I desired to get a sandwich, I would not even be able to do so. It would be impossible for me to consume food. I would be unable to continue living.”

This new league has guaranteed players a minimum of six-figure payments during the off-season of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), although Reese’s exact earnings from her time spent in Unrivaled have not been released. On social media, Reese, who has been vocal about her desire for better WNBA earnings on multiple occasions, emphasized the recent $50,000 bonus she received.

Reese gave the following response when a fan asked for a portion of her money: “I’m sorry to break it to you but I’m on a rookie contract and that $50,000 was a little more than half of my contract so I have to keep that to myself…. I am sorry. Take a few years from now, and I’ll have you. have a good day.”
