Goodwill set to open new thrift store in Geneva

Goodwill of the Finger Lakes is moving into the remaining space of the former Tops Friendly Markets at the Geneva Shopping Center, according to the Finger Lakes Times. Though the organization has not officially confirmed the store, city officials say renovations are underway and a building permit has been issued.

This marks Goodwill’s third location in Ontario County, joining stores in Canandaigua and Victor. Local leaders say the addition supports sustainable shopping, job creation, and waste reduction — all while boosting secondhand retail in the region.

The plaza, still home to several vacant storefronts, is expected to benefit from the renewed interest and steady foot traffic a Goodwill store can bring.
